Fed: Majority think they ll be worse off with a GST: Poll

SYDNEY, Feb 23 AAP - A majority of voters believe they will be worse off under a GST,
the latest Newspoll has found.

Published in The Australian, the poll found that 52 per cent of voters believe they
will be worse off under a GST, up 15 points from September 1998.

Just 12 per cent believe they will be better off, compared to 24 per cent in September 1998.

And 56 per cent of respondents were against the introduction of a GST, with 42 per
cent of them "strongly against".
