Vic: Govt would consider alternatives to MCG redevelopment
MELBOURNE, Feb 20 AAP - The Victorian government would consider any sensible alternatives
for redevelopment of the Melbourne Cricket Ground's Members' Pavilion, but realistically
the ground needed better facilities, Premier Steve Bracks said today.
The $400 million proposal involves rebuilding the Northern and Ponsford Stands and
the 72-year-old Members' Pavilion to create 5,000 extra seats and bring the ground's seating
capacity to 100,000.
