NSW; Girl, 16, injured after cars collided nearby

SYDNEY, Aug 28 AAP - A teenage girl waiting to cross a southern NSW street suffereda broken leg when struck by a car after it collided with another vehicle nearby, policesaid.

The 16-year-old girl was standing at Spring Road, Sussex Inlet, when a Commodore sedanand a Toyota Hilux collided at a nearby intersection with Thomson Street.

Police said the Commodore spun out of control after the impact and hit the girl.

The accident occurred at 4.15pm (AEST) yesterday.

The driver of the Commodore, a 19-year-old woman from Berrara, suffered facial injuriesand possible leg and chest injuries in the accident.

Both were taken to Nowra Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Hilux, a 27-year-old man from Sussex Inlet, escaped injury.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene for mechanical checks.
